The Port Burwell Historical Society is the proud organizer and primary sponsor of the annual Canada Day Festivities in Port Burwell.
Our celebrations typically kick off with a parade through the streets of Port Burwell, followed by children’s activities, speeches by dignitaries representing all four levels of government, a ceremonial cake cutting, a flyover of WWII vintage Harvard aircraft, musical entertainment, free refreshments and lots of community fellowship.
Help us make this the best celebration ever!

Our festivities are lucky to receive the support of the four levels of government representing Port Burwell. This year we expect to have Andrew Lawton, MP; Rob Flack, MPP; Grant Jones, Warden - Elgin County; and, Ed Ketchebaw, Mayor - Municipaltiy of Bayham in attendance and each one will address their constituents of Port Burwell and the surrounding area.
Following the addresses by the assembled dignitaries, we ask their assistance with a ceremonial cutting of our Canada Day cake.
The Port Burwell Historical Society will be providing cake, cupcakes and Gatorade, while the Vienna Lions will be cooking up some hot dogs on their BBQ.

The Port Burwell Marine Museum staff will be hosting a free craft session for all children attending the celebration.
Once again the climax of our festivities will be the fly-past of the vintage, World War II Harvard Trainer aircraft. Presented by the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association and sponsored by the Vienna Swans this fly-past is a fan favourite!
Local artist and educator, Robert Ponzio joined our Canada Day celebrations this year and with the help of Port Burwell's aspiring young artists created a beautiful mural highlighting the Village's many attractions.
During the Port Burwell Canada Day Festivities, the Marine Museum offers children's activities for our younger patrons. This year, the children made a wind sock based on the vintage Harvard aircraft that conduct the flyover highlight of the day.
