IN MEMORY OF PORT BURWELL AND BAYHAM'S FALLEN SOLDIERS

For the past few years, the Port Burwell Historical Society has been commemorating Bayham's Fallen Soldiers, the young men who gave their all in service to Canada, via our Remembrance Day Facebook posts.

In order to provide a less fleeting remembrance, the Society has created this page in their memory.

in 2025, we completed our World War I pages for all those listed on our Port Burwell Cenotaph. In addition, we have built a page dedicated to Canadian Women serving in World War I.

This year, 2026, we have begun building our World War II remembrances. These will be posted prior to November 11th.

It is an ongoing project.

The Port Burwell Cenotaph

Located in the Market Square section of Port Burwell, the Ken Kirkpatrick Memorial Parkette houses the Cenotaph, erected in 1929, commemorating those of Port Burwell and the surrounding area,  who gave their lives in WWI in service to Canada.  The memorial also lists all those of the area who served and returned home after the Great War ended. An additional plaque was later added to remember those who perished during WWII.
